I've heard that magic skinning knives don't drop any more. Is that true?

They dont drop at all neither do a few other tradeskill items like silver spoon or 2 bladed saws or magic leather tools and some are soooo rare its insane like stonebiters and anvils and mystic scissors carp sets felling axes chef caps- ive reported this more than a few times over past months- nothing done as of yet about it!! More tradeskill drops needed more often from mobs and readd back the ones that are missing please!!

While at it something like the alchemist apron (for alchemy-suggestion i made some time ago) would also be appreciated As also would full cook book/ brewing book/ alchemy book / runecraft book in game to reference to- or crafting table in game much same as carpentry one or iron forging one would be appreciated with doing those skills. Its a pain having to exit game to find out information like that -should be coded in game.
Thanks Leah (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

EDIT: Another couple ideas- would be to make stonebiters anvils and magic skin knifes and so forth all part of the craftable sections in crafters lists other than just drops. Stonebiters should be tal for instance - anvils made of brim i would think. Magic scissors maybe out of thrall, and magic skinning knives out of brim- or combos of greater heart wood/heartwood for handles and metal parts out of ores currently in game. 2 bladed saw would take greater heart wood for handle and blade tal put together = new saw.... just an idea!!
Another idea- is a repeatable quest to kill certain amount of some mid range creature (thinking like skeletons for instance) 50 to get enough bones to make a bone skinning knife for instance- not quite as good as the magic skinning knife (adds maybe 5 to level) but could be repeatable as well- mid range magic tools quests - In my opinion should be higher end ones as well though some tool that gives great experience and double resources - shouldnt be level 20 to use them though should be level 45 or 50+ range

aeauction.com's bestiary reported a Carpentry Toolset dropped from a Termigon Worker a few weeks ago, so maybe there's some hope. Part of the problem may be just lack of hunting of the particular creatures that drop tradeskill items, since the game became so dragoncentric. If they added magic crafter tools to dragons, the dam would burst, and there would be plenty of them around again.

I don't think the solution is to make every useful item droppable from dragons -____-

The problem with adding SO MANY new mobs all over the damn place is now all of the lower and middle tier mobs are pretty pointless in the game.

Another reason we need a freaking Pre-DS server desperately.

hmm, i think it was in the spring just past. Was when I was helping my gf's cahracter do some LK's and things like that.

Though, it couldn't hurt to add those items to Dragoons, Goblins, and maybe Ghosts?

*edit* as much as Leah and I don't get along in game, she is on to something when she says that these tools should be craftable.

Numinous Runecrafting Tools and Enchanted Foraging Sticks already are, so it appears that the devs have at least thought about this at some point.

All of these items DO drop. You just have to be willing to go out and look for them. In the past few weeks, I have seen MSK, Anvil, and many other tasty items like these drop from common old AE creatures.

All those areas that have been supposedly long forgotten, go check them out. A few to check would be goblin farmers (by the lake near Krog), giant cave rats (just south of Valmond, not really old AE lands, but good tradeskill stuff drops from them), termies (in Ethereal Palace caves) and a few others.

Heck, make it a scavenger hunt!

As far as I remember, Termigon Workers/Warriors drop plenty of Magical Tradeskilling tools, including Magic Skinning Knifes!

several months ago Scharnhorst told me that a magic skinning knife dropped from the cave rats in the basement under vrethpool. or maybe it was the ones south east of vrethpool along that mountain.
