Anyone figure out how to run DoD on Windows 7, I have spent countless hours, running debugs and other junk....
I must have missed something, the unit I have is brand new still... Specs are: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250....Graphics Card 4GB....System Memory (RAM) Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit....Operating System 2.5GHz....Processor Speed And is completely updated... Net 3.5 and XNA 3.0: Those are the two main things make running this program, however Windows 7 doesn't support them. Kinda sucks atm, because I would really like making my idea for the game viewable in a dungeon format....LOL there is just to much stuff to type lol. |

tried, still get the same error because windows 7 doesn't support Net 3.5 and XNA 3.0, both programs are needed to run it

I'm on 7 as well, and am tired of the lack of solid RP dungeons/content, and of seeing the canned "players CAN create their own content" response. However, thus far I can't install XNA 3.0 because it didn't detect the required Visual Studio 2008 Express, which I had just installed.
Now going to try Visual Studio 2010 Express, coupled with the latest XNA and .NET. Who knows, maybe it'll be compatible. I'll keep updating. |

Using Visual Studio C# 2010 Express, XNA 4.0, and .NET 4.0, and have attempted compatibility modes for Vista (all SPs), XP (all SPs), and no compatibility (on the assumption that the most up-to-date frameworks are compatible with 7). Also attempted compatibility modes before, during, and of course after installing all of the above.
Unsurprisingly, not working. Need to find a decent XP machine that I can steal and try this on. |

it actually is insulting how poor the support for this expansion is. It should be the greatest content release in the games history. Being able to make our own content.... and it's got as much support as a Bra made from Kleenex. Never have I been so disappointed as I am with the sad fate of this potentially amazing expansion.
1) look at the cult following AE has 2) Look at games with cult followings that gave their fans a content-creator (Oblivion, Morrowind, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and New Vegas). And those are only two small examples (franchise-wise). 3) Look at how long-lived those games and their respective communities are! I managed to squeeze 4 years out of oblivion because of the mods and player-made content. If AE's content creator was "usable", we wouldn't bother/mind waiting several years for official content. Depressing, really. |
