Do you know Ashen Empires better than the back of your hand? Share your expertise, tips & tricks, and helpful hints with other players!

We'll award 3 outstanding guides with 2 weeks of subscription time and feature the guides on the website. There's no deadline, and it's not a contest...just a call for some grade A guides written by those that know the game the best.

Your guide must be:
- Accurate
- Your own, original work (those copied from others' guides will not be considered for the prize)
- Readable and free of errors
- Written in English

Here are some tips/suggestions for writing a good guide
- Pick an interesting topic
- Include screenshots (where appropriate)
- Break it into sections/steps
- Reference others/websites (where appropriate)

Here are a few example guide topics (this is just to get you thinking, you can write about whatever you want):
- Things every AE player should do at least once
- The STR/DEX warrior build lvl 1-100
- Solo Survival Guide: How to survive as a one man party

Guides should be submitted to GM FujiQ (that's me!) as a Word Document or Rich Text File (RTF). Chosen guides will be converted into PDFs. If you want, please include a small blurb about yourself (the author) for posterity. I can be contacted on the forums with a PM or by email: FujiQ @ ashenempires.com. Your email/message subject should be "LFG Submission."

Don't forget, you are always MORE than welcome to post guides in the Knowledge Base section of the forums. Also, if this is something you enjoy doing, perhaps you should apply for the volunteer Knowledge Management position.

Good luck! We look forward to seeing your work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/AECsleep.gif)

It's still going on and will be until three are chosen. Guides are reviewed very shortly after being received.

Zues's guide is a really nice one for beginning players. Nicely done, but (yes there is a but) some information has been left out. It might have changed in the time i have been gone it might not i dont know. I just like a guide to be finished completely (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Doesnt Int increase Stampool?
Doesnt Str increase To Hit with melee?
Doesnt Dex trigger all the advanced skill more often? (melee/ranged skills)
Doesnt Int trigger all the advanced skills more often? (magery ones)

Dexterity will improve your ability to block other players’ shots when standing next to them if they are using a ranged weapon, and decrease the chance your shots will get blocked from mobs or other players.

I agree with the last part, first part is new for me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Your stam pool depends on your INT or CON - whichever is higher. This is what I have heard, atleast!

Int does increase stam POOL
not sure if str increase To hit with melee, although now we can see our To hit and it doesn't increase so?
dex does trigger advanced skills more offten (dodge, block, double attack, critical hit) and int for (critical heal)

CON for stam REGEN and int for stam POOL for example warrior with 5 int has 100 stam pool and a mage with INT has 600 stam pool - you can test this by using a mage with no stam using greater stam pot doesn't bring you up to 100% stam it will bring you to about 70%, but with a warrior that is stammed will bring it back to 100% stam.

I said.. CON and INT increase your stamina pool.. just depends on which one is higher.

If you have 300 INT but 120 CON = You get your stamina pool from the INT.
If you have 5 INT but 170 CON = You get your stamina pool from the CON.

S-i-m-p-l-e!

I knew INT gave stam pool I didn't know it was INT OR CON, only things that regen stam is pie/armor/regen totem etc no orbs/stats regen your stamina pool.

although if con helps with regen shouldn't INT help with stam regen when using say an elk ring?

just a thought?

If Int/Con provide a bigger stam pool, they also increase the regen since it always tics at the same speed, and it didnt say otherwise in the guide.

It said first aid is based on Con, but afaik its always been Int unless it changed.

Also alot of the weapons skills listed at dex, which i dont understand since its only str besides unarmed combat.

Anyways, a really nicely written guide!

How would u explain BMs hitting criticals like 2.8k with MM? INT/CON cant do that and as rumours say the more INT u have the better crits u hit. So BM has high INT and STR so that makes his Critical MMs so powerful, no?
